Nezu Shrine is one of Japan’s oldest shrines. It is surrounded by luscious greenery with beautiful natural settings. The contrast between the trees and the tunnel of torii gates is so picturesque and reflects Japanese culture in all its age and beauty. Nearly all of Nezu Shrine’s structures are extant from when they were built or rebuilt in 1706. For this reason, they are designated Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
