Mission
Our mission is to share the beauty of Japan with the world.
But for us, Japan’s true beauty lies beyond the famous landmarks; it’s found in connecting with its people, experiencing its rich culture, and discovering its lesser-known places.
So, our approach is to plan trips, guide tours, and organise events that let you really explore. This means focusing on experiences you can actually feel: learning from a local artisan, enjoying a meal you helped prepare in the kitchen of a Japanese home cook, or knowing the history of that quiet temple just outside of town.
We want our clients’ every trip to be a real and lasting connection with the country.

What Makes Flip Japan Different
Local and Global Perspectives
Our story began with a team of foreigners from all around the world—just like you.
When we first arrived in Japan, we all found this country to be overwhelming, not sure where to begin.
During the years that we have lived here though, we have discovered and visited countless famous tourist attractions as well as unique and underground places. To offer an even deeper perspective, our team has grown to include passionate Japanese experts.
We are now proud to say that our combined team are experts on Japan, and we would love to share the knowledge with all of you!

Originally here for a year… and somehow ended up staying for 13+! Hokkaido’s snowy Shimaenaga is my obsession (trust me, you’ll want to Google this!). When I’m not chasing Shimaengaga, aka snow fairies, you’ll find me wandering around and eating my way through all 47 prefectures of Japan.

Malissa
Senior Project Manager, Japan Travel Consultant
I first came to Japan over a decade ago and was instantly welcomed by the warmth of the community. From California, somehow ended up with family in Mie and a deep love for countryside train stations, secondhand shops, and regional snacks. Always chasing hidden gems and helping travellers feel like locals.

Akiko
Sales and Marketing Manager
Born and raised in a Japanese temple located in the middle of nowhere, now in Sendai. Loves chatting, travelling, and watching Mahjong games.

Laura
Project Manager, Japan Travel Consultant
Born and raised in Portugal, moved to Kyoto to study Japanese language and culture, and ended up staying because of the food. Passionate about traditional culture and kimono, has been an anime fan since childhood, and loves the modern and traditional balance that Japan has to offer!

Michelle
Travel Designer
I came to Japan to study history at Hokkaido University, and along the way, I completely fell in love with the country and its people. I’ve always been passionate about Japanese history and culture, but living here made that appreciation even deeper. I love collecting gachapon, exploring the countryside, and renting a car just to wander through different rural regions. There’s something special about discovering the quieter side of Japan — I highly recommend it.

Martina
Tour Manager
I came to Japan through my university exchange and fell in love immediately with its beauty.
I am a big fan of outdoor activities, matcha, and Japanese culture. I look forward to sharing with all travellers the most magical corners of Japan!

Just another gaijin romanticising Japan—Filipina mom in Yokohama with an unhealthy yakiniku obsession. Find me either camping or trolling convenience store aisles for the latest limited edition snacks.
