Flip Japan Group Trips FAQs
How do I book a tour?
You can book your spot directly on the tour page by paying a deposit. The final balance is due before your departure date, and we will send you a reminder with the specific timeline and details.
What's included in the tour price?
The price covers your accommodation, all transportation within Japan (including private transfers and bullet train tickets), the services of your expert guide, entrance fees to all sites on the itinerary, and the meals specified on the tour page.
What's not included?
The tour price does not include your international flights to and from Japan, mandatory travel insurance, any meals not listed in the itinerary, visa fees, or personal expenses like souvenirs.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, all travellers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance. Your policy must cover, at a minimum, trip cancellation and medical emergencies for the duration of your tour with us.
I'm travelling by myself. Is that okay?
Absolutely. We welcome many solo travellers on our tours. The standard price is for a twin-share room with another traveller of the same gender. If you would prefer your own private room, a single alternative is available.
What is the group size?
We specialise in small group travel to ensure a better and more personal experience. Most of our tours have a maximum of 10-15 travellers.
Do you book international flights?
No, we don’t include international flights. This allows you the flexibility to book from your preferred airport, use air miles, or extend your trip.
What is the accommodation like?
We stay in a mix of high-quality, well-located Western-style hotels and traditional Japanese inns, known as ryokan. This allows you to experience both modern comfort and traditional Japanese hospitality.
How much walking is there?
Our tours are active and involve a moderate amount of walking daily. To fully enjoy the experience, you should be comfortable walking for a few hours at a time, including managing stairs at train stations and temples.
Do I need cash in Japan?
We recommend carrying a mix of Japanese Yen (cash) and a credit/debit card. While cards are widely accepted, cash is essential for smaller shops, local restaurants, and markets.
Do I need to speak Japanese?
Not at all. Your guide will handle all communication, but learning a few simple phrases like “arigatou” (thank you) is always appreciated by the locals!
Do you need any help?
Please feel free to ask us anything!
