What You'll Need

  • Be legally eligible to work in Japan
  • Have a Japanese bank account
  • Be comfortable speaking both English and Japanese
  • Enjoy meeting new people and speaking in front of groups
  • Have an interest in Japanese culture, history, and local life
  • Be reliable, friendly, and adaptable

Skills to Make You a Top Candidate:

  • Deep knowledge of Japanese subcultures (like fashion and niche hobbies) 
  • Fluency in a third language
  • Experience leading outdoor or cycling tours

Unique Tour Themes We’re Scouting For

We’re particularly interested in guides who are passionate about specific sides of Japan, such as:

  • Outdoor adventures, like hiking, nature walks, and countryside trips
  • Cycling tours through the streets of Tokyo or Kyoto
  • Deep dives into Japanese subcultures, like music, fashion and anime 
  • Local food tours and explorations of Japan’s dining culture
  • Urban exploration focused on architecture, design, etc

What We Offer

  • Flexible Scheduling: Most tours start around 10:00 AM and run for about 5 hours, with full-day tours also available.
  • Freelance Flexibility: You can set your own hours and tailor your guiding style to suit you.
