On May 29th, Japan's House of Councillors officially passed a bill approving JESTA (Japan Electronic System for Travel). It means that short-term travellers will need to apply for approval to enter Japan in advance, instead of when they actually enter the country (like the current system).If you have an upcoming trip to Japan, don't worry! Nothing is changing immediately, and you don't need to apply for a JESTA just yet. This might be Arashiyama’s most underrated experience 🚣‍♂️The Hozugawa River Boat Ride takes you through the mountains of Kyoto, surrounded by Kyoto’s beautiful forests, different rock formations and seasonal landscapes that transform throughout the year.The boatmen navigates the river using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations, while joking and sharing different stories along the way.What started as a route to transport goods to Kyoto over 400 years ago has become one of the most unique ways to experience the region today 🇯🇵✨If you’re planning to take this boat ride, I would recommend taking the Sagano Romantic Train to Kameoka station, take the free shuttle bus to the boarding point for Hozugawa River Boat, enjoy the boat ride to Arashiyama, before discovering the main bamboo forest, Tenryuji, Togetsu bridge area.‼️ Please note that the boat ride might be cancelled because of the weather conditions or water level. ⏳ It takes about 1.5-2.5 hours🙋‍♀️ Would you try this boat ride in Kyoto?#kyoto #kyototravel #hiddenkyoto #hozugawariverboatride #arashiyama
