The Hyakudan Kaidan has often been referred to as a department store of ornamentation or the Palace of the Dragon King of the Showa Era. When it first opened in 1931, Tokyo was recovering from the devastating earthquake. This place was a safe, fairy tale land for people to enjoy life again.
It is considered a cultural asset of Japan and they have many varieties of special exhibitions where you can experience Japanese culture. Filled with fans, dolls & shadow puppets exhibited in traditional Japanese banqueting halls decorated with murals, this is a must-visit location.
General admission: 1,000yen
