Bar Psy is a rock bar located right by Shinjuku’s Kabukicho Red-light district. It is THE PLACE to go if you want to rock out, smoke, and drink. With a wall filled with CDs, you can basically request any album and you’ll get it played for you on.
The genres range from American rock, screamo, and rockabilly music, and is guaranteed to be a more hard rock than the Hard Rock Cafe. The decor is insane, with walls covered in signature boards from famous rock stars that have visited from around the world. Half of your time there may be spent checking out the intense decor and taking pics with the photogenic red and blue lighting (also free wifi!).
Although there are a ton of regulars, there are also lots of English-speakers. Come by and you won’t feel out of place! The bartenders are kind and are down to chat about all kinds of rock music in English. The drink bar is amazing and features Jagermeister and Harlem on tap. Drinks are pay first before drinking, so be prepared with cash! Come rock out at Bar Psy and learn a thing or two about rock music.
