The Belgium Fair held at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in 2021 marks the 155th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Belgium. The recipe of the chef of the Belgian Embassy in Japan was created under the theme, “Food from all over Belgium”. You can taste traditional Belgian dishes, waffles, desserts and afternoon tea using Belgian chocolate created by chef Chocolatier Yukio Ichikawa.

The Afternoon Tea-Marché de Noël 2021 is based on the image of Christmas markets, a winter tradition in Belgium. You can enjoy rich chocolate mousse reminiscent of the stone pavement of Belgium’s world heritage Grand Place, cakes with a light texture, and Belgian regional cuisine.

You can also try eight selections of Belgian beers, from beers with refreshing tastes to beer with richer tastes.

Imperial Hotel Tokyo will hold the “Belgium Fair” from November 1st (Monday) to December 25th (Saturday), 2021.

The sweets plate is created with an eye-catching white Christmas tree, reminding you of a white Christmas. Sweets such as hazelnut and marron mini bushes, mille crêpes, and salted caramel macarons are lined up with delicate decorations.

Besides these, you can try different sweets like strawberry roll cake with a lovely teddy bear motif, “Steiff plate” with strawberry mini tart, apple crumble glass sweets, scones, foie gras millefeuille. Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo’s new afternoon tea with white as the key color is created to represent a sea of ​​clouds and winter scenery. With sweets and drinks prepared, it is a romantic afternoon tea reflecting the silver world and snowflakes.

At the sweets stand, Berry Compote Vanilla is used to show the silver world with powdered sugar and you can taste the Lamington, a sweet of white chocolate and coconut with a snow motif. A limited-edition tart that looks like a Christmas tree is also prepared here. 

Besides plain scones, three types of afternoon tea scones are available, including apples, cinnamon, and dried cranberries.

The savory dishes at this set include crab cream risotto doffinoi sauce gratin, truffle-scented egg canapes, pumpkin salad and sausage mortadella sandwich.

The afternoon tea stand, which looks like a Christmas tree, is decorated with a variety of breads. Chestnut cream tropezienne baked with butter-scented brioche dough on top of cookie dough and sandwiched with malon cream, gingerbread cookie baked in a tree shape, salt scone shaped into a star shape reminiscent of Christmas ornaments. 

Yuda’s specialty menu is Smoke Duck Focaccia, which is topped with smoked duck, green onions, and mashed potatoes on a focaccia finished in a firm dough after 18 hours of refrigerated fermentation. The duck oil oozes into the bread so much that it simmers.

Organic tea of ART OF TEA from Los Angeles is prepared, with 20 different kinds of drinks available for you to choose from.

At the top of the tea stand, you can find a pistachio and strawberry tart, a gateau opera with a cute face of reindeer and a raspberry and cassis mousse imitating the hat of “Santa Claus”. 

In this afternoon tea, you can try three different types of strawberries and compare the tastes. The strawberries are served with condensed milk and white chocolate mascarpone cream. 

For the savory lined up in the lower row, you can enjoy caprese with the image of “Santa Claus” and salmon tortillas with the image of stumps like “Bush Donoel”. There are also additional options you can get like quiche using pumpkin and green peas, and lasagna with eggplant.

The upper part of the afternoon tea stand is a rose-shaped vanilla mousse with white sweets such as marshmallows and white chocolate. Warm rose-flavored cream is sprinkled on the cotton candy on the top and you can enjoy the melting cotton candy, making it a playful dish.
